Women will retire at 61 years and 8 months this year. The age has been increased by two months, according to the decision derived from the 2014 reform of the social security market in Albania.

The retirement age for women has been raised from this January. If in 2024, a woman should have 38 years, working age to retire 61 years and 6 months, from this year she should work 2 months more.

Meanwhile, for men, the age to leave the labor system is 65 and will remain unchanged for the next 9 years. But the social security portfolio changes for them. So, the length of service that until last year was recognized as 38 years, now, he must have 38 years and 4 months in the system, to earn the full pension.

For 9 years, the pension scheme changes, as a result of the 2014 reform, and is expected to stop in 2056, when the retirement age for men and women is equalized at 67.

The data from the social security shows that the average pension in our country is 19 thousand ALL, while the beneficiaries of monthly payments are 723 thousand individuals.

It is estimated that every year, about 15 thousand citizens leave the labor market.
