Prime Minister Edi Rama told French state-owned news media ‘France 24’ that Albania has a functional justice system that is conducting serious investigations.
PM Rama dismissed the journalists’ claim that the ‘ruling majority has been recently overwhelmed by various scandals’.
He argued that the current justice system is able to investigate any person, regardless of their post.
“We’ve undertaken a great challenge in reforming our justice system. We didn’t do it to say that our people our untouchable and the others can be indicted”, Rama said.
“This reform is equal to all”.
“And that is why Albania has a justice system which has started to conduct investigations, but it’s still isn’t up to EU standards, like France is”.
