Saimir Tahiri’s trial adjourned to January 5

The appeal hearing at the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime of Saimir Tahiri and Jaeld Çela the former director of Vlora Police was postponed to January 5.

Meanwhile, Çela has requested the dismissal of the presiding judge Daniela Shirka, but his request has been rejected.

At the end of the session, the former Minister of Interior refused to comment to the media. Tahiri was charged with drug trafficking, but the court only sentenced him for abuse of office, converted into 3.4 years of probation.

The file of Tahiri and Çela was sent to the Appellate Court by the Supreme Court following the latter’s decision.
