Former prime minister Sali Berisha arrived at the headquarters of the Democratic Party and called it an “insanity” to find the doors closed. He said that will change and the party will be returned to Democrats.

“The scenes caused by a man who jumps from one scandal to another, from one shameful act to another; a man showing that he does not have a single dime of political or moral integrity left in him”, said Berisha.

Sali Berisha also said that he had never imagined something like this would have ever happened.

“He (Lulzim Basha), as a minority, wants to harass the majority. He wants to seize the building from the majority, the house of the Democrats, in an act of anti-democratic folly, treating it as personal property,” Berisha said.

He also invited the party’s supporters to join the cause in a peaceful protest in order “to take over their home to turn it into a house of freedom.”

“Our protest is a peaceful protest. Our most powerful weapon is the determination to achieve our goals through peaceful means”, said Berisha.

Earlier during the day, another group of Democrats arrived at the party’s headquarters but found the doors shut.

In a statement released to the press, it has been advised that this is due to some reconstruction work taking place.
