The need for medical care as a result of being affected by seasonal viruses and respiratory infections has increased the number of patients who appear every day at the family doctor’s door.
The weekly monitoring carried out by epidemiologists at Institute of Public Health shows that the numbers have exceeded 10,000 patients per week, while forecasts speak of an upward trend in the coming weeks.
Although the term influenza is commonly used in the population, epidemiologists have not yet isolated any influenza virus in circulation as of late May. To precede the winter season, the injection of the flu vaccine will begin in October.
According to experts, flu vaccines help prevent severe forms of flu and fatalities.
