Democratic MP Agron Shehaj made his remarks during today’s protest at the Deshmoret e Kombit Blvd.
Shehaj stated that the Democratic Party has the current majority, referring to the high turnout in today’s protest while adding that many others will join.
“Albanians are leaving the country because the government is deeply corrupt. We are the majority. Our nerves are alive, and your presence here today and that of many others who will join us clearly speaks to that,” – he said.
Shehaj also highlighted that he has nothing personal to gain from this protest, nor did he join because of the leader, Sali Berisha. The reason, according to him was the concern he shared for the citizens of this country and the uncertainty for Albania’s future.
Lastly, Shehaj said that the only alternative that can bring back hope for Albania is an offer that promises honesty and the rule of law.
