Prime Minister Edi Rama warned on Wednesday that some mayors elected under the banner of the Socialist Party will soon be subject to an investigation from SPAK.
In a press conference from the party’s headquarters, Rama said the reports will be submitted by the anti-corruption unit.
“Very soon the anti-corruption unit will file criminal reports on figures from the Socialist Party. There will be reports against Socialist mayors that have put this party to shame and should have been caught before. But, we will do our job, and the anti-corruption unit will do its job, not SPAK’s”, said Rama.
In regards to his statement from a few days ago, urging an investigation into former PM Sali Berisha and President Ilir Meta, Rama said that his intention was not to exert pressure on SPAK, but simply encourage it to do more.
