Socialist MP Bardhyl Kollcaku dismissed on Tuesday concerns about providing tourist visas to Russian citizens.

Talking to host Erla Mehilli on Euronews Albania’s Now, Kollcaku noted that all individuals who are granted a travel visa may be subjected to surveillance if there are red flags.

According to him, Albania has sided with the West in sanctioning Russia.

“Whoever is granted a visa, can be monitored if he becomes a suspect. Albania follows the same line of sanctions as the US and the EU. Sanctions are coordinated, but they do not address the Russian people. There are 570 sanctioned subjects, but not the Russian people. We don’t want to pass on that fear to regular citizens”, Kollcaku added.

On April 21, eight countries were added to the list of those who do not require a visa to enter the Albania territory, including here, Russia.
