The floor leader of the Socialist Party in parliament, Taulant Balla, said after a meeting with Mesila Doda and Fatmir Mediu on Friday, that they have determined key points for selecting the new president, but there are still no concrete names to reveal.

Balla said that in the “upcoming days, or hours”, there will be more talks on the presidential candidate.

“Both party groups showed interest in presenting concrete names”, Balla said.

Balla said the process should proceed without further delays.

“The first round is on the 16th, meanwhile the deadline is May 23”, he said.

The first session on the new president is due May 16 however, the Socialist Party has yet to come up with a name.
