Sociologist Gezim Tushi declared that he is in favor of legalizing prostitution in our country.
During his interview on Euronews Albania’s ‘SOT’, Tushi said that since the year 2004, when this debate first started to take place in the Albanian public sphere, he has been in favor of its legalization.
“The sexual revolution in our country started too late, after the 90s, at a time when in other countries it began during the 70s. We’ve made steps forward but we’re not where we need to be,” – said the sociologist.
“There’s an ongoing clash between different moral frameworks. However, when a certain issue has already embarked on a specific path, it’s useless to try and resist it,” – he added.
According to Tushi, it’s not only massage parlors that act as ‘hubs’ for prostitution but across the country, there are hotels, motels, and other businesses that offer similar services.
