DP’s candidate for MP, Agron Shehaj said during Political Barometer that the Socialist Party has suffered a great decline in its support in the district county of Tirana.
He said that the Democratic Party is leading in terms of popularity compared to other political subjects.
“This makes it even more believable, this increase your survey has discovered, it makes me think that despite my previous small doubts, this confirms the fact that SP is in a downward spiral and continues to fall by the day. I wouldn’t be surprised and we will see this on April 26th, there is no discussion that in Tirana, DP comes before SP,” said Shehaj.
The former-MP Shehaj also emphasized that the Democratic Party will win at least 20 MPs in the district county of Tirana.
“20 seats…[DP] and 16…[SP]”, he added.
But the deputy mayor of Tirana, Arbjan Mazniku sees the situation differently. He stated that SP in Tirana shows an increase by 2 percentage points in comparison to the 2017 elections.
“SP in Tirana gets a 50.3% result, which is an improvement by 2% from the 2017 elections. We are going up since the last elections in a marginal rise. DP is at 38.5% and SMI under 6%. This is the most recent survey and it proves a belief that SP has held for a long time, 48-51% for SP, DP at a ceiling of 39-40% and SMI under 6% in Tirana”, stated Mazniku.
