The Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime, known broadly as SPAK, is looking into a $500,000 tender announced by the Albanian Development Fund after doubts that the winning bidder is the son of the institution’s president, Dritan Agolli.
The investigation will look into violations falling under public procurement equality principles, as well as corruption.
With a 36-month deadline, the tender was awarded for the creation of an authentic Albanian food product in a project titled “The Menu of 100 Villages”.
The winning company, Mascarpone Ltd. was supposed to help these villages by offering a food menu based on their local dishes.
