The Special Appeal Court decided to postpone for Wednesday its verdict on former environment minister Lefter Koka.

Koka’s defense counsel is claiming double jeopardy for the second verdict, which sent the former minister to prison.

Lefter Koka made a plea for a more lenient sentence claiming to have acted in conformity to the law and ruled out committing any procedural wrongdoing with the leasing contract of the company that was granted to build the incinerator.

His defense is arguing that the former minister is not responsible for the expropriation as the documentation was compiled by experts in the ministry.

But SPAK is arguing the opposite, claiming that Koka received €1.2 million for the incinerator of Elbasan, and another €3.7 million for the construction of the Fier incinerator.
