The floor leader of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla, said the husband of Foreign Minister Olta Xhacka has not profited from public funds.
Responding to a journalist’s question on his stance to remove the mandate of Xhacka, he said the situation was blown out of proportion and that all procedures have been followed.
“If you want my personal opinion, the entire ordeal is null because the procedure was carried in conformity to the law”, said Balla.
“Just be patient and in the end, you will see that there were no constitutional violations when it comes to the financial designation”.
“Albania needs more investments in the tourism sector and private investors are welcome. Strategic investors do not profit from public funds”.
The Democratic Party has accused minister Xhacka of being in a conflict of interest as her husband is developing a touristic resort on the beach of Himara after being granted ‘strategic investor’ status.
