The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, gave details to the Foreign Ministers of the EU member countries on the latest round of talks held between Kosovo-Serbia in Brussels.
The EU’s chief of diplomacy noted that the wide and robust cooperation of the United States and the European Union will aid the dialogue process.
“Cooperation between the US and the EU is very good while there’s no longer the competition from the US to take over the main role at the dialogue”, Borrell said.
Summarizing the last meeting of the EU’s foreign minister in Luxemburg, he added that the dialogue will continue to be led by the bloc, and informed that the other meeting will take place in July.
The dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia and its final aim in achieving a legally binding bilateral agreement is among the 36 points in the common foreign policy agenda agreed by US President Joe Biden and EU leaders
On Tuesday, EU foreign ministers will discuss the Intergovernmental Conference with Serbia, but the bloc is not set to open any new chapters in the accessional talks with Belgrade.
Furthermore, the same is expected for Albania and North Macedonia, although several member states are in favor.
