Today, Bektashi believers celebrate the Day of Sultan Nowruz, the birthday of Imam Ali in the Kaaba.
This year, Nowruz celebrations will be conditioned by the pandemic, but visits from politicians in the main Headquarters of the Bektashi order in Albania.
President Ilir Meta extended his greetings from the National Bektashi Headquarters, wishing all Albanians a better and more prosperous life.
“It has been an extraordinary winter, we have had extraordinary snowfall, and the snow still prevails if you take a look at the Dajti mountain, but flowers have bloomed, mimosas have blossomed and not only. Spring will be unstoppable and may it help us all have a better future,” said the head of state.
The leader of SMI, Monika Kryemadhi sent her wishes for Sultan Nowruz, emphasizing the religious harmony.
The US ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim was also present in the National Bektashi Headquarters, where she extended her wishes as well.
The Swedish Ambassador in our country, Elsa Hastad was also present today in the Bektashi National Headquarters, where she wished all Albanian Bektashi believers the day of Nowruz.
“Happy to wish Baba Mondi a happy Nevruz today in the Bektashi headquarter in Tirana. Happy Sultan Nowruz!” wrote the Swedish Ambassador on her Facebook account.
The Day of Sultan Nowruz, the most important holiday for the Bektashi sect, was decreed a national holiday in Albania in 1996.
