The Supreme State Audit (KLSH) is investigating all the chain of institutions responsible for wildfire intervention activities across all the cities where flames are raging through forests and pastoral lands.
The authority will probe into how these institutions have responded amid a wave of massive ongoing wildfires, from how they utilize the equipment to organizational steps.
In addition, KLSH will also look into the tenders that provided equipment to firefighters, as well as other civil emergency structures, and if the material purchased actually matches what was lacking during their fire extinguishment missions.
All violations will be reported to the Prosecution Office.
Currently, several areas across the country have been ravaged by wildfires, with the most problematic case reported in the Karaburun peninsula.
