Former minister of internal affairs Saimir Tahiri, will now be serving his sentence at the prison of Fier.
The news was confirmed this Wednesday, by the General Prisons Directory.
Tahiri was sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in prison on charges of abuse of power. After his arrest, he was initially being kept in a private cell correctional facility no. 313 in the capital city.
On February 4, the Special Appeals Court sentenced Tahiri to 5 years in prison, which was later converted to 3 years and 4 months.
The former minister has the right to appeal his case by applying for recourse at the High Court, within a 45-day time limit.
