Teachers’ salaries in Albania increased in July of last year, reaching an average of €950 per month. However, compared to other countries, Albania remains at the bottom of the list.
According to a report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Albanian teachers are the lowest-paid in Europe. On an annual basis, the gross average salary for a teacher in 2022-2023 was €11,400 in Albania, whereas Luxembourg offers an annual salary of €85,589.

- Bulgaria: In recent years, Bulgaria has made significant reforms, increasing the annual teacher salary to €40,000, a 117% rise since 2017.
The OECD emphasized the importance of offering more opportunities for professional development to ensure that teaching remains intellectually stimulating throughout a teacher’s career.
