The Catholic Church in Albania sent a message to the Muslim community by expressing solidarity regarding the incident that happened earlier this afternoon in the ‘Dine Hoxha’ mosque at rr. Kavaja street in Tirana, where 5 people were attacked with a hand knife.

“Hoping that the incident will be resolved as soon as possible in all of its details, we express the solidarity and compassion of the entire Catholic Church of Albania to you and through you, to those injured and their families,” stated the Head of the Bishop Conference of Albania, Angelo Massafra.

Bishop Angelo Massafra also gave a message of hope to the entire Muslim community.

“I pray to God for all of you, that are also living the month of Ramadan, for those injured, for your community and all Albanians that hope and goodness can reign in your hearts and that such incidents may never be repeated,” said the Head of the Bishop Conference in Albania.
