US ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim, declared today that the United States is taking additional steps to prevent corruption and other illicit activities in our country.
While comparing corruption to a ‘cancer’, the US ambassador added that all corrupt individuals will be held responsible for their actions.
“Corruption is a cancer. The US is taking additional steps to prevent corruption, combat illicit finance, hold corrupt actors accountable, and strengthen the capacity to expose corrupt acts,” wrote the US ambassador.
Earlier, during a press conference dedicated to corruption in Albania, ambassador Kim highlighted that there are currently serious obstacles that are preventing the achievement of good governance for the Albanian people.
The ambassador has also made consecutive calls to join in efforts in the fight against corruption in our country.
