Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a statement to the media after his meeting with SP district leaders, denied any connection between him and the case being investigated by the US Department of Justice for the former FBI official.

Asked by the Euronews Albania journalist, Eksiola Shehu, Rama described the accusations against him as “mere noise”, as he emphasized that this case was investigated by the American justice system, which according to the prime minister if there was an investigation against him, they would have spoken by now.

“This is a case investigated by the American judiciary, which does not issue decisions on murder without a perpetrator or manslaughter when the murders are committed from the windows of state institutions and most importantly the US does not spare anyone. In this particular case, there is zero accusation and zero connection between the issue being discussed and me or the Albanian government”, said Rama.
