The 26th book fair will be held in the premises of the Palace of Congresses in Tirana from November 15-19. Tirana book fair is a nationwide cultural event that is expected with great interest from citizens.
“November is a very important month for Albanian culture. There are almost 100 exhibitors and everyone will have the opportunity not only to choose the books they want but also to participate in the activities”, said Petrit Ymeri, head of the Publishers Association.
The annual book fair brings together publishing houses from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro, writers, poets, translators and readers, where they get to know new publications, discuss the issues of contemporary literature, translation into Albanian.
“I believe on the national level, it is the biggest and most important event in the field of culture. We have publishers from Kosovo, many authors from Kosovo, we also have stands from North Macedonia and Montenegro. It is a beautiful celebration of the Albanian culture, it is a beautiful celebration of the book in the Albanian language”, said Ymeri.
The first book fair in Tirana was the “Tirana 1998” fair, organized at the International Cultural Center from December 16 to 20, 1998. Since this year, this organization has been held regularly.
