Tirana Court approves the appeal form for diaspora voters

The Tirana Court has approved the format of the appeal form for the right of voters outside Albania whose applications to register in the voter list were not approved.

The diaspora will have a two-day deadline to file an appeal, based on the legal provisions in force of the Electoral Code.

The registration process for diaspora voters for the parliamentary elections of May 11 ended on March 4.

According to the Central Election Commission, 365,166 requests have been registered so far, while over 234,000 have been processed. Currently, 18,000 applications are still under review. Based on previous electoral participation, the diaspora vote is expected to represent around 15% of the total electorate.
