The Court of Tirana has accepted this Thursday the request of the Prosecutor’s Office and has set the security measure “house arrest” for the two citizens, Xhevahir Rrushin and Gentjan Tuga, detained after the opposition protest.
Citizen Gentjan Tuga, 47 years old, a resident of Tirana, was accused of the criminal offenses “Assaults due to duty” and “Destruction of property”.
This development happened after Molotov bombs were thrown at public institutions during Monday’s protest, where some minors were also involved.
From the clashes and incidents during the protest, 10 police officers were injured, while three protesters were also injured.
The Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha, reacted by emphasizing that a group of individuals had crossed the limits of the law with their reprehensible actions, endangering public safety.
On the other hand, the opposition stated that the October 7 protest is just the beginning of civil disobedience which will extend to all cities until the technical government is established.
