The COVID-19 pandemic has given the tourism sector in the entire world a heavy hit, and our country couldn’t have been left behind.
Last year, during the holiday season, the number of tourists visiting Albania saw a decline of about 60% compared to the same period in 2019.
However, this year the holiday season might come with a more optimistic and hopeful outlook, just after the start of the massive vaccination process, even though touristic operators have on numerous occasions expressed their need for assistance from the Albanian government. In this prism, the Ministry of Tourism and the Environment has announced that it will co-finance projects in the touristic sector by providing a fund consisting of 30 million ALL, for the entire duration of 2021.
The Ministry will be helping with the funding of up to 50% of the entire budget of those projects, which aim to promote Albanain destinations and the unique values of our products and touristic attractions.
