According to data published by INSTAT, the number of foreign visitors entering our country has seen a sharp rise this April, with visitors from Kosovo having the greatest effect.
The rate by which Kosovar citizens are visiting our country at this time of the year is 21% higher than the first trimester of 2019, but unfortunately in regards to visitors coming in from overseas, the numbers still remain 31% lower than the pre-crisis levels (January-April 2019).
This has been mainly a consequence of the reluctance of European tourists to get out and travel.
According to INSTAT, the number of Albanian and foreign tourists entering Albanian soil during the month of April 2021 was 466.283, which is a significant rise compared to the same time last year, 18.5 times higher in fact.
The number of foreign visitors entering our country was 241.015 or 19.8 times higher than the same time last year.
INSTAT’s findings show that the pandemic has produced a particular influence on the rise of visitors coming in to our country from Kosovo, seeing that they now make up 51% of the total entries, compared to 29% during January-April 2019.
