In Albania, the Independence Day of Ukraine was celebrated at the national museum. Ukrainians who have been in Albania for a year and a half, feel longing for their country.

“I feel very upset because when I was a child it was one of my favorite holidays in Ukraine. Here people try to give us some hope and help us feel that we will have freedom and be happy in our country,” said a girl.

On this very important day, the experiences of the war are imprinted in their minds.

“I am proud because we are heroes, but I am sad because many people have died and are in very difficult situations,” said a woman.

Not only for Ukrainians, but also for Albanians who lived there, this day is seen as a day of hope. The victory is Ukraine’s, they say, and they hope to return to a free Ukraine.

“Since I taught at one of the best universities in Kiev, I feel happy that the situation is turning day by day in favor of Ukraine and I wish that soon this independence day will be finalized with the complete independence of this country,” – said a man.

During the event held at the National Museum, the documentary “Beyond the Peace” was broadcast with views of the consequences of war crimes and expressive testimonies of the Ukrainian people, as well as an exhibition with real images of the pain and destruction caused by Russia.
