The US ambassador in Kosovo, Jeff Hovenier, has condemned the attack with a bomb against a EULEX observation patrol.
Through a post on social media, Hovenier called the attacks unacceptable and demanded that those responsible be punished.
“The US joins EULEX in strongly condemning the attack on a EULEX patrol last night. Violent attacks against the Kosovo Police and international security personnel are unacceptable and those responsible must be held accountable through the Kosovo justice system,” Hovenier wrote on Twitter.
The European Union’s Mission for the Rule of Law in Kosovo, EULEX, has confirmed that a bomb was thrown at an observation patrol on Saturday evening, near Rudara, in the municipality of Zveçan.
EULEX announced that no officer of the Specialized Police Unit was injured and no material damage was caused, but it called such attacks unacceptable.
