Vaccination certificate or negative test, amongst new rules to travel to Kosovo

The foreign ministry has announced that all those who want to enter Kosovo from this day  forward, must fulfill one of the following requirements:

  • Vaccination certificate showing proof of full vaccination (both doses) against COVID-19
  • Proof that you have recovered from COVID-19;
  • Positive RT-PCR test issued no less than 21 days before date of entry and no more than 180 days.
  • Positive test results of serologic anti-body– IgG, issued no longer than 30 days before date of entry;
  • Negative RT-PCR test, issued no longer than 72 hours before the date of entry;
  • Negative rapid antigen test issued no longer than 48 hours before the date of entry;

Meanwhile, citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as those staying in the country on a permanent or temporary residence permit, should self-isolate for 7 days, in cases when they don’t possess any of the above-mentioned documents. These persons will also have to fill out a self-isolation form at the applicable border crossing.

In addition, the following cases are exempt from the above-mentioned rules:

  • People entering Kosovo through the airport or in-land border crossings, who plan on leaving Kosovo in 3 hours or less from the moment of entry.
  • Persons who work in the professional transport industry, under the condition that they respect all international transport protocols.
  • Citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, who have left Kosovo in the last 12 hours from their moment of entry.
  • Foreign citizens, who are passing through Kosovo by means of organized transportation like buses or international transit lines, under the condition that they sign a declaration that they will be leaving Kosovo territory within 5 hours;
  • Foreign diplomats that have been accredited in Kosovo;
  • Persons under the age of 16.
