Vaccination in universities to continue through the month of October

Vaccination for students and professors in public and private universities around the country, will continue through the entire month of September and it will be pushed through to October as well, – announced the minister of health, Ogerta Manastirliu.

“By October 11 which is when the new academic year is set to start, we need to have had a high percentage of students vaccinated and ready to participate in auditoriums,” – said minister Manastirliu.

Vaccines will continue to be available in all healthcare centers across the country but vaccination centers have also been set up in every university in Albania.

The minister of health also announced that so far, at least 66% of professors, teachers and educators have been full vaccinated.

Around 30 thousand doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be arriving in our country by the end of day, whereas well over 500 thousand additional Pfizer doses are expected to make it to Albania by the end of the year.

In terms of the vaccination passport, which is now recognized by the European Union, Manastirliu said that it will be valid for all European countries and can be obtained through an application on e-Albania.

Since the beginning of the massive vaccination process in our country, a total of 1,649,994 doses have been administered.

The number of anti-COVID vaccines that have arrived to our country thus far is 2,013,720.
