The delegation of the Holy Father Pope Francis headed by the Cardinal of Florence Giuseppe Betori accompanied by our Cardinal Ernest Troshan Simoni, visited the Museum of Evidence and Memory, or the former prison of Shkodra, where Cardinal Troshani also spent some time in the investigator.
Cardinal Betori was closely acquainted with the prison and its history, the methods of investigation and the suffering that some of the martyrs of the Catholic Church in Albania have gone through in the cells of this prison.
‘We must honor with humility all the martyrs, those who have died and those who are alive, like our beloved Cardinal Ernest Troshani, because they have given us a reason to be faithful to Christ and His Gospel”, said Cardinal Giuseppe Betor, archbishop of Florence.
While the Albanian Cardinal Ernest Troshani said that suffering should be based on faith in God.
In this visit, Cardinal Giuseppe Betori was welcomed by the Archbishop of Shkodra Monsignor Angelo Massafra, while he was also accompanied by the Apostolic Nuncio in Tirana, Monsignor Luigi Bonazzi.
