Analyst Agon Maliqi, referring to the publication of the first exit polls for the local elections in Kosovo, points out a positive panorama for opposition parties.
According to predictions, Vetevendosje, the Democratic Party, and the Democratic League might actually face a second round of elections for the large municipalities, said Maliqi.
“We might be heading toward a scenario where Vetevendosje is at risk in all large municipalities. We are near a scenario where Vetevendosje might actually not win any municipality”, said Maliqi, adding “Vetevendosje remains a party of national character and national themes”.
According to the analyst, the reasons behind these results are the positive developments that have taken place among the two main opposition parties, as well as their decision to nominate qualitative candidates.
“The two opposition parties have changed leadership and brought to the polls qualified candidates. Voters, according to exit polls, have rewarded these changes”, concluded Agon Maliqi.
