The two power-generating vessels rented by the Albanian government will be anchored in a tourist-free area and undergo all technical solutions to prevent any environmental damage said Arber Avrami for Euronews Albania.
The CEO of Albgaz said that the powerships offer a quick solution to the current global energy crisis and hailed the government’s success in signing a deal at a time when these vessels are highly coveted around the world.
“The vessels will be anchored at the Triport area, an area that doesn’t have tourists. The pre-meditated technical solution: a cooling system that is necessary for the vessels to work. It is a solution that has been thought of for a long time in order to prevent affecting consequences in the water or air”, said Avrami.
He clarified that an in-depth study has been conducted in advance on the impact that these platforms may have on the environment.
“We have taken care that this solution is in line with environmental standards, it is energy production meeting the environmental standards of the World Bank,” he said.
