One day after stepping down from the mayoral race, Voltana Ademi declares she does not recognize Lulzim Basha as the legitimate leader of the Democratic Party. In addition, she said that Shkodra suffered greatly from the votes that were sold in the past elections.
“We will win in Shkodra. Look at the engagement of the members of the Democratic Party in these primaries. Lulzim Basha is in a crisis. I don’t recognize him, I don’t know who Lulzim Basha is”, she said.

DP’s members from six municipalities are voting in the primaries to pick the candidate that will compete in the local by-elections.
Berisha presented 6 candidates in Shkodra, namely Alfred Kosobashi Arben Maliqi, Astrit Bushati, Bardh Spahia, Irena Shestani Shala, and Irma Kopliku Alushi.
In total, 22 candidates are competing in the primaries, but only six will make it to the by-elections.
On the other side, DP leader Lulzim Basha said he does not recognize the primaries.
