The preferential vote count in the Tirana district has concluded.
Olta Xhaçka has secured a parliamentary mandate for the Socialist Party, narrowly defeating Blerina Gjylameti.
Xhaçka received 6,213 votes, compared to Gjylameti’s 6,085.
Following the result, Gjylameti has officially submitted a request to the State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, asking for access to the video footage of the vote counting process in Tirana.
More than 15 open-list parliamentary candidates have requested access to the vote counting footage from the Central Election Commission (CEC).
