For about two hours, delegates are voting on amendments proposed at the Democratic Party’s National Assembly.

Euronews Albania journalist Ardit Hoxha reports that the voting has now entered the final stage.

Delegates are voting on statute amendments announced by MP Belind Kellici at the beginning of the Assembly.

Reporting live from the Palace of Congresses in Tirana, Hoxha said voting is taking place in a small department on the second floor.

“The 150 members of the National Council are elected by vote from the National Assembly, while the other 52 MPs will automatically be part of the National Council due to their post, but also 72 branch leaders”, reported Hoxha.

“Together with them, former state functionaries and representatives of the Democratic Party will become members of the National Council without being subjected to a voting”, added Hoxha.
