The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has said that he does not believe that he will meet with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in Paris.
After his meeting with the French president, Emmanuel Macron, he told reporters in Paris that there was a possibility that the meeting would happen, but now he no longer believes it, sharing no more details as to why that is.
Yesterday, PM Kurti, who is also in Paris today, said that a meeting with Vucic could happen. Kurti and Vucic are participating in the Peace Forum, at the invitation of the French president.
Vucic said among other things that he conveyed to the French president “the disappointment of Serbian people in Kosovo because what was promised to them didn’t actually take place”.
“There is no reason to be optimistic about Prishtina. I told Macron that we are only asking for status-neutral license plates, as it was part of our agreement,” said Vucic, adding that he told the French president what the conditions are for the return of Serbs to the institutions of Kosovo, without making them public, however.
“But we don’t know what will happen next”, said Vucic, referring to Serbia’s request that Kosovo forms the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority.
