The Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic reacted to today’s decision taken by Kosovo authorities that served to escalate the already high-tension relations between both countries.

In a nutshell, Kosovo’s government announced earlier today that they will be requiring all Serbian drivers to get a hold of temporary vehicle registration plates upon entry to Kosovo.

Through posting a photo of his meeting with EU’s Special Envoy for the Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, Vucic wrote that he “will be informing the public promptly about what will happen in the northern province,” – calling this a serious crisis.

After his visit to Kosovo from September 15-17, Lajcak is now in Belgrade, where he will be holding discussions regarding the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

Earlier today, the head of the Serbian Lists of Kosovo, Goran Rakic called Kurti’s decision “a direct threat to Serbs that simply want to bring food to the table for their children”.

“I call upon all those that have convened, to contain themselves and I also call on Prishtina to not raise tensions,” – declared Rakic.
