The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said that Belgrade “does not have any sanctions against itself” despite the pressure, talking about why it has not imposed sanctions on Russia, like the rest of the democratic world.

Vučič referred to the death in prison of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, calling it “another spark in the burning fire.”

“It is tragic when such a man in that age loses his life. I’m not an investigative body and I’m not as smart as everyone else in the know-it-all world. I would not even want to talk about what happened to Milosevic, this is for political analysts, not for the president of the country”, said Vucic.

“Anything we don’t like, we reject without reservation”, he emphasized.

Vučič also has no doubts that Serbia’s position will be even more difficult in the future.

He emphasized that Serbia has no sanctions against itself, “despite the efforts”.

“Despite the fact that many things are not in our favor and Kosovo has not been recognized, Serbia does not have any sanctions against itself. And we didn’t even impose sanctions on Russia. If I decided, I would be a champion of democracy, winner of dozens of awards, and with the recognition of Kosovo, I would also receive the Nobel Prize”, said Vučič, as reported by Danas.
