Analyst Baton Haxhiu says that the wage-leak severed the reputation of the National Agency for Information Society, locally known as AKSHI. According to him, “the state has not shown that it is ready to preserve the integrity of its citizens,” adding that it is imperative to re-establish the trust of the citizens.
For Andi Bushati, AKSHI is now on the side of the accused while blaming the Socialist Party for the entire ordeal.
According to him, the information was leaked by AKSHI.
“Emigrants that hadn’t been to Albania for many years but had to apply for a passport from e-Albania, saw their personal data on the patron list”, said Bushati.
The analyst says he supports the idea that the data be administered by a public company as its privatization does not solve the problem.
“What happened is not an accident of a weak state, it is a form of power that robs its state. Albanians can solve this by holding authorities accountable and not treating them as lab rats,” he said.
Bushati added that these data “were stolen in the period January-April to steal votes”, while Haxhiu believes that it’s clear that there is a purpose behind it.
