Former Minister of Education Genc Pollo calls the government’s decision to close the Turkish college in Tirana absurd.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Pollo said that the victims of the brutal intervention in Albania’s affairs are first and foremost the students and their families.

According to Pollo, the decision is an arbitrary blow to the education system in Albania. The government has been criticized by the EP for illegal extraditions of Turkish citizens to Turkey. According to him, the latest decision destroys the image of Albania as a country oriented toward the EU.

“A government that arbitrarily closes a school to please someone else abroad is seen as a country that least deserves to be in the EU,” said Pollo.
