The World Bank estimates that Albania may encounter difficulties in finding the necessary financial resources due to its high dependence on external debt.

However, in the autumn update of the “Recovery and social protection” report, the bank calls for continued support for the needy.

According to the bank, the government is faced with two paths, either cut public spending or go for debt refinancing with high-interest rates.

Refinancing is considered a risky option for public debt in this period.

In the medium term, the bank predicts that consumption will return as the main driver of economic growth and a revival of private investment is expected.

As for poverty, the report estimates that the increase in prices is affecting its reduction.
