The beautiful sunny days favor various activities in Tirana during this weekend. Aside from outdoor activities, there are also a bunch of cultural events in the capital.
Starting from Saturday, “Retro Bazaar” in the Skanderbeg square offers a taste of nostalgia. A combination of music to reconstitute the spirit of the ‘50s-‘60s, with traditional motifs, arts and a parade of old cars.
“Gadjo” will be up on the scene of the Experimental Theatre, as a collaboration with the Multimedia Center in Pristina. Tackling the themes of racism of the rom community, the display is directed by Blerta Neziraj and played by actors such as Edona Reshitaj, Juli Emiri, Verona Koxha, Rafael Hoxhaj and Blend Sadiku. The play is dedicated to the youth that doesn’t accept violence and bullying in modern times.
The Metropol Theatre will host another play. “Three winters” by Tena Štivičić and directed by Riza Kostani, talks about women and their voices. Three long winter nights recount the transition period, with decisive events that change the fates of the characters. Four generations of women with secrets to be uncovered, are played by prominent Albanian actresses such as Yllka Mujo, Luiza Xhuvani, Marjeta Ljarja, Elia Zaharia. The play also includes interpretations by the Tirana Ensemble troupe.
Children are not to be forgotten. “Snowhite and the seven dwarfs” will be shown in a new light at the artistic high school “Jordan Misja” in Tirana. Humor and magic will entertain the young audience and there is an invitation for adults as well to enjoy the play.
