The pandemic will continue to be a threat to Albania in 2022.
But apart from the pandemic, four other factors pose a risk to the country’s economy and environment.
The annual analysis of the World Economic Forum predicts insecurity in the field of regional politics.
According to the Global Risks Report 2022 published by the World Economic Forum, Albania is at the risk of “fractured interstate relations”.
Another challenge that the Albanian state has to confront is cybersecurity, adding that more should be done for its consolidation, in face of the thousands of data leaked last month.
Human-made environmental damages were listed as one of the other dangers. From cutting trees, illegal hunting, and pollution, the report recommends that Albania must be careful at this point.
Public debt is at the highest peak recorded and the government must be careful with its finances.
The main threats on a global scale listed in the report are the climate crisis, rise in social cohesion erosion and unequal global recovery as well as the pandemic.
