About 2 in 3 Albanians think that the Open Balkan initiative is in Albania’s better interest.
Findings from Euronews Albania’s weekly Barometer show that Albanians have a generally positive outlook on the Open Balkan initiative.
44% of Albanians think that Open Balkan speeds up the region’s integration process.
More than half of them (54%) believe that this initiative would bring up the number of tourists coming to our country from elsewhere in the region, thus helping the local economy.
One of the topics widely discussed amongst the general public is the fact that Open Balkan, is an initiative that has been orchestrated by billionaire George Soros. This didn’t find much support amongst Albanians.
The majority (36%) weren’t sure whether or not Soros had anything to do with this initiative. Almost 1 in 3 Albanians (31%) refused it all together and only 17% agreed with it.
Findings were uncovered by Euronews Albania’s Barometer, in collaboration with MRB and Data Centrum, which conducted polls at a national level from November 20-30, 2021 that included 1.000 in-person interviews.
