Euronews Albania saw the file detailing the investigation on the wage leak scandal. IT specialist near the Tax Directorate, Eni Qirjako e-mailed to her colleague, Andi Agaraj the data containing the salaries of Albanian employees.
The transfer took place at different times, starting October 2020 and until September 2021. Qirjako started working at the tax directorate in July 2020, while Agaraj had been working there since 2013.
It is suspected that the data was retrieved from the CATS database system.
In the file, it is written that after Eni Qirjako pulled out the data, she learned of the wage leak on 22 December 2021 and noticed that the date and the hour when the file was created coincided with the files she had sent to her colleague Andi Agaraj. She says to have informed her director Ervin Muca as soon as she learned what had happened, explaining that the username “Moza Seraj” was created by her to access the data.
Also, the investigation revealed that the data administered by Klodian Sota and Endri Ikonomi, the two people working in the private sector who bought the data, had been purchased for around 20,000 – 30,0000 Albanian Lek through external hard disks provided by Agaraj.
