EU’s Special Envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, gave an exclusive interview for Euronews Albania during which he declared that EU member states believe that Kosovo should have been granted visa liberalization a long time ago.
“There is no doubt that Kosovo has met all conditions necessary to lift the visa regime and the issue once again lies with the lack of consensus. But I can say that this issue is being brought up much more often by member states during meetings of various European bodies, which is why I think that it’s coming. I don’t dare say a date but it’s definitely coming” – said Lajcak.
The diplomat emphasized that he can’t give a specific date but that he is convinced that the moment for visa liberalization in Kosovo is very close.
