Euronews Albania journalist, Eni Ferhati, stated that investigations into the Tirana incinerator have stalled, unlike the ones in Elbasan and Fier.
He said that they are not aware of the interrogated persons, but only of some administrative actions.
“We do not know whether the criminal proceedings have been registered on the basis of the criminal offense or whether there are names or suspected persons who may be involved, or whether they are public officials,” Ferhati said.
According to him, the people involved in the incinerator scheme who are under the guise of politics may be many, taking into consideration that a former minister and a former member of parliament are currently in prison.
“For the ruling majority, it would be a big blow if the characters involved in this case were too numerous. It is more understandable that the Special Prosecutor’s Office, since it is a new institution, does not see it as a way to take over the direction of the country by attacking the government,” said Ferhati.
According to him, SPAK must react and do its work as an institution without being influenced by the government.
