The Freedom Party protest at the Tirana incinerator started shortly before 6:00 p.m.

Citizens flocked to the destination announced previously by party chairman Ilir Meta, but participation so far has been low.

Euronews Albania journalist Eksiola Shehu said that Ilir Meta and the main leaders of this political force have not arrived despite the protest officially starting at 6.

In a statement for the press, Meta said that citizens should come together and act today, so as not to mourn the country’s mass depopulation next year.

Meta also confirmed that other rallies should be expected in the weeks and months to come.
